Experience the true meaning of Easter! During the Easter season we celebrate the Lord's gift of renewed life. Receive daily readings from scripture starting March 3. Each daily email in this program features a Bible passage from the Easter story, followed by readings touching on some aspect of the passage. At the end of the readings for each day is a set of reflections, together with some questions for consideration.

Our Easter Readings are designed to deepen your sense of God’s presence in your life. This year the readings focus on the last chapters of the Gospel of Luke. They arrive as daily emails from Sunday, March 3, through Monday April 1. Each reading comes with explanations from the works of Emanuel Swedenborg and questions leading to reflection, discussion, and practical application.  In addition to these free readings, we offer free discussion groups for a broader perspective and connection with others this Easter season.

The New Church understanding of the Easter story focuses more on Jesus’ life than on His death, and more on His resurrection than on His crucifixion. Jesus’ suffering and struggles were not some punishment from God, but rather His own effort as God in Human Form to overcome the power of hell—the power of hatred, contempt, and revenge. Jesus offers to connect with us by demonstrating His Divine love and compassion for all people.

Easter Readings Groups are small spiritual discussion groups, based around the Easter Readings email program.

Come Closer to the Lord.

In the weeks before Easter, we can draw closer to God by discovering a deeper understanding of the Easter story. Jesus said, “I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to Myself.” (John 12:32)

Understand His Story.

The Easter story is about how Jesus rose from death, and also about how we can be changed and uplifted to find more peace, happiness, and connection. To get the most out of the readings, you can share them with others in a small group.

Share the Journey.

Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20) Make a closer connection with the Lord by reading His story together and sharing insights with each other.
